As we filmed this transformation, we took stills for later use by the Sportsplex PR department. When the time came for the grand opening, they were able to give all of the media a DVD with the movie and stills.

Converting to a better playing surface makes the Sportsplex and all-day and all-year stadium and a truly multi-sport home.

We are putting together two cameras this week for an upcoming custom home build in Chesterfield.  We needed a little bit of welding to get this stand ready!

On day five the brick walkway is in and the irrigation has started!

This time lapse was a one day shoot in Williamsburg Va with two cameras. It was shot for the new website: ConcreteVA.com This is our second video with them. (See the first one here)

The curbing you see here is the slant style curb with the brick stamp finish. We also used a Belgian texture roller with charcoal release. Upon finishing we apply one coat of solvent based acrylic sealer. Please take notice: we install around existing landscaping without any disruption of the existing plantings. One thing I am always proud of is the way we leave the project. At the end of the video please observe the condition of the landscape with the new edging, spotless and neat.

Richmond Time Lapse Helps One of Nation’s Largest Power Companies.
Customers Can Watch as Company Restores Power, Rebuilds Gas System.

New Orleans, La. – When one of the nation’s largest power companies, Entergy Corp., wanted to show its customers what it takes to restore power after a major storm like a hurricane, they turned to Richmond Time Lapse. When the Fortune 200 company turned to RTL for our unique photography service, they created a dynamic educational tool that will demonstrate the time and incredible effort it takes to keep our lights on. “Moreover, because pictures tell a thousand words, Richmond Time Lapse has created a tool for Entergy that tells their story whenever they need to recover costs from its regulators after a major storm,” Hamer added. “With our experience, RTL is uniquely positioned to help any major utility in the country tell their story.”

This time lapse was shot over a week for the siding and a day for the roof. We used several cameras as the work was done on all sides most of the time. The crew was great to work with and helped with the filming sequence of work being done!

The Dominion Solar Energy Exhibit at the Childrens Museum of Richmond will be the first exhibit families encounter as soon as they cross the bridge to enter the main exhibit floor. Children and their caregivers will be drawn to a compelling interactive sensory airways exhibit, powered by solar panels on sky cubes above. A large mural of a stylized sun on the wall behind the exhibit will emphasize the suns role in making the energy to power the exhibit.

Children and adults will insert brightly colored scarves into the action-filled exhibit that are immediately drawn in and travel quickly in random paths through the clear tube maze. As visitors watch through the tubes to follow the path of their scarves, their eyes are drawn to the sky cube above to see the scarves exit the exhibit and float down to the floor. When they look up, they see one of the three sky cubes that support the photovoltaic panels that power the exhibit, as well as provide additional power for the museum.

Beside the airways exhibit, a flat panel television will interpret the museums solar energy array on three of the museums five sky cubes for school age children and adults. The video will describe the process of harvesting the suns energy through photovoltaic panels, the conversion of that energy to electricity and how that power is making air move throughout the exhibit to propel the scarves to the exit above. In addition, visitors will be able to follow the Kilowatt per hour trend to see how it fluctuates due to cloud coverage and the angle of the sun. Running on a continuous loop, the video can be quickly updated as necessary and allow video presenters and their messages to be seen by more than 230,000 visitors per year.

By powering what promises to be one of the Childrens Museums most interactive and popular exhibits, even very young children will have a special connection to solar energy that they would not otherwise experience. In addition, the video interpretation provides more detail for adults and school age children, introducing the benefits of solar energy and bringing the concept out of the abstract and making it a real part of a fun and memorable experience.
